Scribd - audiobooks & ebooks App Reviews

Tried one month free, cancelled well before the month and these guys put through a charge on my credit card. Either its free or it isnt but you cant lie about it. I found the app to be useful if you read alot but for my purpose it wasnt really useful...

I was running busy these few months and hadnt used most of my credits. I figured to use all my credit on books i wanted and pause my membership till i finish my credits. Unfortunately, pausing membership also denies you of right to finish reading a book or using any remaining credits. I understand what scribd is trying to do but this system is not a user friendly system in a consumers POV. I feel like getting robbedof some sort but other than that; if u can finish all your credits in a scheduled timing, scribd is a 4.5 star app for reading.

I purchased Beyond Desire by Gwennye Forster. Chapters 8 and 9 were missing from the book. Total waste. You go the chapters having a conflict to everything being ok.

I dont find the app design exceptionally easy to use, it could be more user friendly

Every time I try to listen to my audiobook a problem occurs. Whats the point of this app? Hopefully, itll be solved asap.

Easy to use; lots available. I just wish it gave more than 3 tokens a month

The APP has no way to cancel it in app. You have to go into you device settings. Really not worth the bother just use the kindle app. Much more user friendly.

Not only do you NOT get to listen to the full audiobooks that YOU choose (youd have to purchase more book credits in addition to your monthly fee), they bill you whenever they feel like it. My payment for Sept 1st was taken today, August 11th. Its only $9 but then the app is still scheduling to take a payment out of my account on September 1st! I finally got used to having to only listen to the "Scribd select" books and now theyre doing dirty business with my bank account. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR TIME. DONT GET THIS APP.

If you were an Oyster fan then you will not like Scribds limited monthly books. I am a fan of Scribds selections though. There is a larger History selection here than Oyster. Let us also be honest...... I Love to Read. No problems with their app on my end so 4 out of 5 stars for me. I really like Scribd.

Ive been paying for Scribd for about 8 months now and really enjoy the fact that its actually forced me to read way more. For less than the price of Netflix every month you can get 3 books and 1 audio book. Considering I go through 2 books a month right now, Im building a pretty good back catalogue to read through. Perfect way to educate yourself on countless topics through reading. I wish their selection of e-books was a bit better when conpared to Amazon but Ive been able to find plenty of books to grab every month so its obviously good enough so far

For musicians a great resource

With so many different books available, I can explore different genres and expand my tastes. Awesome!

Ive been a long time subscriber and have rolled with them throughout the pricing and service changes and will continue but I sure wish this app would get better. It is so slow in loading (even downloaded books) and often crashes on my iPad and iPhone. They also keep changing the app, taking good features away such as a bookmark. How stupid! 5 stars for the service but 1 star for the app so they get a 2 1/2 star rating (even though this will appear to be a 3 sear)

Well worth the price and has a lot of options other book apps dont. I do wish they had a way to have non audible books to be read.

WITH SCRIBED YOU ONLY RENT OR BORROW THE BOOKS, SO YOU ONLY HAVE ACCESS TO THOSE BOOKS AS LONG AS YOUR STILL PAYING THE MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP FEES. ALTHOUGH NOT OWNING THE BOOKS LIKE OTHER SERVICES IS ITS DOWNSIDE. SCRIBED STILL HAS ENOUGH POSITIVES TO JUSTIFY ITS MONTHLY FEES. THE SERVICE I LIKE THE BEST IS THE ENDLESS AMOUNT OF DOCUMENTS/COMPANY HANDOUTS OR POLICIES, AND FORMS THAT ARE ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUDED WITH YOUR MONTHLY FEES. THE FACT YOU CAN FIND A FORM, DOCUMENT, COMPANY HANDBOOK OR HANDOUT ON ALMOST EVERY SUBJECT JUSTIFIES THE MONTHLY COST TO ME. THE TREE BOOK RENTALS AND ONE AUDIOBOOK IS JUST AN ADDED BONUS AND COMPLIMENTS THE OTHER SERVICES I USE WHERE I ACTUALLY OWN THE BOOKS AND FILES I CHOOSE EVERY MONTH. GUESS KINDLE AND AUDIBLE HAVE PROS AND CONS, JUST LIKE SCRIBED BUT ALL THREE SERVICES ARE HONESTLY EQUALLY NEEDED IN MY EYES
