Scribd - audiobooks & ebooks App Reviews

Its a great service at a great price. Im a heavy reader so Im able to get more for my money than I did on Audible. The only problem is that the iPhone version of the app crashes everytime you search. Ive installed and reinstalled without any luck. I havent done a lot of troubleshooting so it could be device specific. Im still able to read books and listen to audio so its not a huge issue, just mildly inconvenient. Id like them to fix it but Id still recommend the service.

It would be better if I could keep access to the books I selected after I stopped subscription.. or if I had more options. I dont need another 3 books + 1 audiobook every month but would rather just keep reading a few which I already have access to on this site. But I still love it!

I have been using Scribd for a few years and they keep jerking us off... there business model, is schizophrenic. They let me build a library then change their mind and it disappears. Incredibly stupid board of directors and CEO, figure out your model all ready, listen to your customers... its not that hard, then stick to the plan. Net flicks lets us watch an unlimited number of movies a month from a limited selection and is dominating.... there is nothing disruptive about about paying 10 bucks a month for 1 book you cant even keep... its just stupid, provides value to almost no-one. Sad yall cant figure out the difference in what your customers will pay for, and actually use in the long run... give them more, no one has time to put you out of business listening to freaking audiobooks.

I gave it 4 out of 5 because it doesnt always have what Im looking for. But, I read a lot of books every month and the subscription approach saves me tons as opposed to buying book at a time on the other services (which I also use when I cant find what Im looking for here).

I was referred to this app to try a book. The book was not available and they do not let you cancel your membership even though you dont want one. Being reported to the BBB and a stop payment will be set up for these horrible business practices.

I love this app, it is very efficient on both my iPad and my iPhone. I can almost always find the material I am looking for, and can access it easily. I love how it runs and is so dependable for my needs. I have used Scribd for over a year and have been very happy. Would and have recommend(ed) it to others because I it is such a great program!

Regardless, I love this app. Used it for years. I wish theyd go back to giving unlimited reads and more audio books each month but at least I can preview titles as much as I want before I commit to using a credit.

Im not very happy about having to delete some things just to download this app...I can see the entire document Im trying to look at on my phone but I dont know why I have to download the app just to see the pages...makes me very sad I have to download something I probably wont use ever again. Wont give a 5 star until I can open documents in browser

This app does NOT let you delete it! It WILL take money from your card even if you try and unsubscribe from it!! Very upset and cant download apps.

Only lets you listen to ONE audiobook a month. I listen to way more than that. And only 3 Ebooks a month? I thought this was supposed to be the Netflix of ebooks. Nope

Best app ever!

Great app that allows me to read and listen. However it is difficult to search for titles. The app prefers to show you "recommendations" based on what youve already read. I prefer discovery.

Never found an app that worked just the way it is expected in learning the way I used to.

Reading 3 books for a great price I read a lot, rarely read something twice, so "renting" is good for me. I like specific genres. Ill read three in those. Then i will try books outside of those with the scribd select free reading. Its easy to find what i want, and check out others i hadnt heard of. Also, you cant get great recommendations from a library. If ive read the 1st in a series, the second is there. No searching.

Im always looking for ways I can save money for books and audio books and this app is easy to use and saves a lot of money on both I highly recommend this. Only bad thing Id say is if you dont use your credits they stop building after 9 books and 3 audiobooks so you have to use them fairly quickly

I love Scribds content. But the app seems pretty bare bones. How I wish I had more options to SORT my saved list vs just type of media and full-access. Id love to be able to save a book then sort by not purchased yet when my next months credits roll around so I could then buy it. Would also be so handy to be able to see when Im browsing if I already own that title rather than having to return to my "full access" list and scroll down looking for it...
