When Scribds boss told PBSs Charlie Rose stand-in Scribd had "millions" of ... audiobooks, I went right to the App Store and charged my apple account $8.99. When I opened the app it offered me a free one month trial. Then it limited the audiobooks I could check out per month--two was the limit I believe. Then the list of newspapers. NYT, good. Everything else Id rarely heard of. I didnt bother. I went right to an audiobook, though not the one I was hoping for. It was very easy to listen. No fuss like public libraries Overdrive app. Still, $9 a month for limited audiobooks, no thanks. I canceled in a day.
If you dont live near a public library system, the tiniest of which now offers books online for free, this may be a godsend.
